You are being watched…
I’ve never been to Disneyland. Not in a hurry to.
And I’ve never had a bad experience with the Brazilians. Good roasted meat.
But apparently, at Disneyland, the Chinese tourists are somehow not the worst. Brazilians take their crown.
I heard a story of a group of Brazilian children surrounding another child and harassing him, in Portuguese. Why? He was wearing an England soccer jersey.
Apparently the Brazilians at Disneyland are also known for another thing… shoplifting.
This is where the evil genius of Disney comes in. They watch all of this on their security cameras.
But rather than stopping them when they leave any particular store with stolen goods, they let them continue their day.
Being watched on camera.
They go from store store, stealing all sorts of things they’d probably never buy. They think they’re getting away with it.
Until they reach the exit and the end of the day.
This is where they’re confronted by a security guard, with an itemized receipt for all of the item they picked up during the day.
The guard tells them that before they leave, this is the last cash register and they’ll need to pay for all their purchases before they leave.
Of course they intended to pay for all the items, and just forgot. So Disney helpfully reminds them on the way out.
The bills often exceed $1000.
But of course if they didn’t intend to buy the items, they have another choice. Admit they were planning on stealing them, wait for the police to arrive, and spend some time in a Florida jail while their children become the property of the Walt Disney Corporation.
Most choose to pay the “restitution sale,” as Disney calls it.
In business, I prefer to avoid bad customers of all kinds whenever possible. And I still recommend that.
But this story goes to show that if you can’t stop them from entering, there are still creative ways to handle (and profit from) people who try to take advantage of you.

P.S. One of the benefits of online business is that traditional shoplifting becomes impossible.
But that doesn’t mean customers can’t or won’t try to take advantage of you.
Whether this is a problem of not depends on how you handle it
I show you how to get it right here: https://gumroad.com/l/rkbth/VIP
